A couple people have written in with the question: Where can my dog(s) go to swim?
I know a lot of dogs would love to have a place to frolic in the water, especially when the heat gets so oppressive that no one, let alone our fur-covered friends, wants to run around at the park.
Is there somewhere in the Talley-Day Bark Park area where dogs can go to play together in some sort of swimming pool or lake?

The closest places would be down on the Brandywine river. Down by Thompson's bridge is the closest, or if you go west on Naaman's Road at the rte. 202 junction and follow that out until you come to a T in the road - there is a swimming area and picnic area there.

Sorry - to be more specific, you turn onto Naaman's road but stay on Beaver Valley Road when Naaman's (rt 92) splits off to the left.

Bark Park has a great place to swim. It is large area with nice sloping banks for the dogs to go into the water. The park itself is beautiful and so large. You can mingle with people and dogs or go off by yourself and play with your dog. It is a great place to practice off leash training. My dog loves to chase the swallows. It is located off route 7 towards Hockessin. It is just past the entrance to Carasel Park. Turn on Old Linden Hill Road and follow the road to the parking lot.
