A couple people have written in with the question: Where can my dog(s) go to swim?
I know a lot of dogs would love to have a place to frolic in the water, especially when the heat gets so oppressive that no one, let alone our fur-covered friends, wants to run around at the park.
Is there somewhere in the Talley-Day Bark Park area where dogs can go to play together in some sort of swimming pool or lake?

We had only 8 volunteers but, with the help of two county workers, were able to spread the mulch in the small dog area before the rain began around 12:20PM. We need more mulch and so Bob Weiner called Paul Johnson. Paul agreed to bring extra mulch during the week and have county employees spread it so that the county doesn’t have to pay overtime. Paul will also have the workers bring a spreader to smooth out the mulch. One of the county workers cut off the big tree limb which was hanging down from one of the fruit trees. He also cut off most of the lower branches under two evergreen trees. Josh and another volunteer helped to toss the branches over the fence while the rest of us spread mulch. We need to tie up the fence to close the gap between the small and large areas and Paul will have his workers do this.

Recently there has been a rash of vandalism down at the Talley Day Park Property. It has been reported that there have been gapping holes in the barn walls. On the inside of the barn is graffiti with offensive language, along with other graffiti on the outside. There is significant damage to the second floor wooden portion of the main house structure. The exterior second story wall and windows have been breached. Debris is scattered around the ground and it appears as if graffiti has been painted on the inside. There have also been reports of illegal activities inside the Bark Park late in the evening. In addition, a cell phone that was lost last evening was recovered by someone is holding it for $300 ransom. If anybody knows or anything or has seen any suspicious activity around the park, I urge you to report it to the police immediately. |
